A. Objective: Provide a web solution for an Australian Entertainment and Design company.
B. Main functions required:
1. Select service or entertainment required - ability to locate a group of artists clasified by types and subtypes. Example: Bands & MusiciansJazz | ShowsComedy | DesignGraphic Design.
2. Search for entertainer or designer - be able to search for an artist or type of entertainer by the following criteria: service (entertainer or Designer), service type (jazz, pop, circus...Related to entertainer | Web, Graphic Design, Cartoons...Related to designer), location (Melbourne, Sydney...), Artist or group name (partial text).
3. Display Result page - Result page from points 1 and 2 to show first 10 results displaying: Artist name, Artist summary and thumbnail image (linked to the Artist page). Page navigation to move between first, next, previous and last results.
4. Display Artist page - Page to show: Artist or Group name, Artist summary (highlights ancor line), Full artist description, work examples (depending on type of artist may be video, sound, images or graphic files), link to prebook artist. Example files to open a segment of the Artist page to view or listen the file.
5. Pre-book Entertainer service - Page takes selected entertainer from artist page and asks client to define the following mandatory fields: Venue location (city, address), venue type, Date, start time, estimated duration, client details (Client name, Client Surname, Client email, client phone number). Also to define optional fields: select other services required (catering, venue, event management, lighting, Audio, decoration), other client details (company, address, fax number), additional requirements. Submit button to save record in database , send email to Administrator and acknowlege email to client.
6. Pre-book Designer service - Page takes selected designer from artist page and asks client to define the following mandatory fields: Project type, project summary, project description, client details (Client name, Client Surname, Client email, client phone number). Also to define optional fields: other client details (company, address, fax number), additional requirements. Submit button to save record in database , send email to Administrator and acknowlege email to client.
7. Submit new artist - Page that allows artists to subscribe to the web site. Artist to define the following fields: Mandatory - Service name, Artist name, Artist surname, email, phone, Country, State, City, address, post code, service summary, full service description (rich text), Artist thumbnail image, multiple service example files (file title and attachment file). Optional fields - new service type, suggestions and other questions. Submit button to save record in database , send email to Administrator and acknowlege email to artist.
C. Additional functions: All those in the .Net Community Starter Kit like forum, events, news, links, downloads, articles, etc.
Development alternatives:
1. Use Community Starter Kit as the base and include new functionality using the same framework.
2. Utilise a customisable solution that you may already have.
3. Develop from scratch (not ideal for cost and time).
Deliverables:
1. Source code and technical configuration and installation procedures.
2. Technical specifications (of the segment developed - if using CSK, full description of changes made). This is required to be able to maintain site directly.
3. Exclusivity of the source not to be sold to another Australian company.
